Would you hold the phone a second?
Let me run along outside
And catch some drops of rain.
Open my palms under the awning
Of the coffee shop,
And seize a drizzle or two.
Then I can tell her to go your way.
And while she does,
I can give her a warm kiss
So she can splash it on you,
As you see her fleeting by.
Arid eyes, craving hands,
And a desert of yearnings inside....
Let me run along outside
And catch some drops of rain.
Open my palms under the awning
Of the coffee shop,
And seize a drizzle or two.
Then I can tell her to go your way.
And while she does,
I can give her a warm kiss
So she can splash it on you,
As you see her fleeting by.
Arid eyes, craving hands,
And a desert of yearnings inside....
